Hi Friends,
We are going to connect XI 3.0 and SQL 2008 server. Is it possible?
I don't know the service pack of XI server but java version is JRE 1.4_2 .
Thanks.
SM.
Hello SM, I hope youu2019re doing fine!
Well, here you have a little problemu2026
Iu2019m not sure (youu2019ll have to contact Microsoft for that) but I believe that most (if not all) of the drivers for SQL 2008 runs on JDK 1.5.
And as you can see on SAP note 723909, SAP does not support JDK 1.5 on 3.0 systems. Only 1.4.
XI 3.0 support only JDBC 2.0 compliant drivers. (Refer to note: 831162 Ans:18)
So, you would either have to upgrade your XI system to 7.01, 7.1x (they support JDK 1.5) or you would have to contact Microsoft and ask them drivers for JDK 1.4.
Refer to Note u2018639702 - JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Serveru2019 for details.
However, there is a workaround for 7.0 systems which might also work on 3.0 systems.
Refer to the blog below for that.
/people/dheeraj.kumar5/blog/2010/03/23/sql-server-2008-connectivity-with-sap-pi-70-possile
After that you can use the tool in the note below to validate your JDBC driver.
1085539 - XI JDBC/FTP connection Test and XML Validation Application
Should the workaround above not work, I believe youu2019ll have to contact Microsoft for the JDK 1.4 drivers.
I hope this helpsu2026
Cheers,
Jorge
