Hi Mamtha,

Not sure where you got this link, but to open up an offline briefing book you need to first download the offline briefing book viewer. This is available on service marketplace http://service.sap.com/instguidesssa -> "Briefing Book Viewer". Unzip this anywhere on your PC. Then open "<YOUR_DRIVE>:\<YOUR_DIRECTORY>\OfflineBB\bin-release\BriefingBookViewer.html" This will open up a prompt dialog box to locate the offline briefing book, once selected you should be viewing your offline briefing book.

Hi Rohit/Mamtha,

I am also having the same issue as Mamtha. Rohit I'm not sure you quite got what Mamtha was saying there. They have downloaded the Briefing Book Viewer and followed the Word document instructions. In the Word document it tells you to go to the Macromedia/Adobe website to setup the folder as viewable in the Global Settings. The document then tells you to export the XML of the Briefing Book from SPM and then open the file called BriefingBookViewer.html (Do this in Internet Explorer as Firefox doesn't work), this will then prompt you to select the xml file you have exported.

Now this is where the issue arises the Briefing Book loads, however none of the data i.e. the tables, the charts or the notes are visible, you are just presented with white pages.

Please note that your link here to the install guide section for SPM does not include the download zip for SPM.

Please let me know if I've missed something but I can only see the Installation Guide and the Master Guide. I used the advanced search to find the briefing book download, I found two and both had the same issue:

SuPM 2.0 Briefing Book: https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=012002523100017096612010E

SAP BusinessObjects Briefing Book for Spend Analytics: https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000030792009E

There is one more but that is for Supply Chain Performance.

Please could you inform us if there is a new version out for SPM 2.1 or whether there is a known solution for this issue.

Many Thanks

Hi,

Yes as mentioned the procedure is as follows:

1. Download the 'Offline Briefing Book Viewer', unzip it on your local machine.

2. Goto adobe site to set a specific folder to be safe for opening files using Flash player.

3. Export briefing book from the SPM application as .XML file

4. Launch the 'BriefingBookViewer.html' for the unzipped directory.

If your offline briefing book does not launch as expected, please open up a customer message providing necessary system connections and login id / password.

Thanks Rohit, will do.

Please still note that the link to the Briefing Book download (Point 1 in your reply) is not where the download is situated.

Thanks

Hi David,

FYI - Rohit's link can actually lead you to the briefing book download, but its a little hidden. If you follow his link service marketplace http://service.sap.com/instguidesssa -> you will see the install guide section for SPM as you mentioned. However, if you at the top of the table view next to the wording "Only recent documents shown" you will see on the left hand side a little (?) diagram that reads on hover - "Display all documents". It is here you can find the Briefing book viewer download. Took awhile to find but its there.

Hope this helps clarify for future readers. I too am having trouble getting the offline briefing book to work.

Anyone know of a how-to-guide for this topic thats been published? This seems to be a common problem.

Cheers,

Danielle
