Hello,

In configtool, we can change the propertysheet - com.sap.security.core.ume

Option 1

by going to Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume

Option 2

But there is also another button Switch to Configuration Edit mode on the toolbar.

Could you please tell me the exact use of of this option?

What is the difference between Option 1 and Option 2?

Which one should we use in order to make some changes to the propertysheet?

Hi Gautam,

The only different is that when you make the changes in the offline config tool, the changes are made directly to the DB.

Such changes should not be done unless specified by a SAP developer/ note etc.

Hi

If you want to make any changes to the values in the existing propertysheet, it is better to do so in the option1.

However, option 2 is sort of advanced mode where you can change the property file of the propertysheet. You can download the file and make your chnages (can add additional property fields, set values etc) This property file is an xml file. However, it is recommended that when you use the offline configuration editor, make sure you copy the SAP default property file somewhere safe before making any structural changes.

Since in offline configuration, you can also change the value of the existing property sheet, it is a superset of the configtool. Whatever changes in values you make in any way will reflect throughout.

Hope that helps. Merry Christmas!

Thanks
