Scanning the documents posted by external candidates

HI ,

We have a potential issue , on external candidates posting their documents .

Our System :

OS : Solaris 10 Sparc

DB : Oracle 10.2.0.4

Scenario :

When external users post the resumes/documents it gets stored in our database and we would like to know whether the documents can have security threat like any virus infected documents could cause loss in data in our database .

  • Is there any virus scanner which we could use to integrate with SAP to scan the documents getting attached in our mentioned environment .

  • Solaris Sparc does it prone to get affected by any virus document getting uploaded from external source , if we route the link to save into some file system ?

  • If the document (Virus) is saved in our database , can that corrupt other data in our database ? if so any possible way to scan the same .

Please advise .

If implemented in any of your landscapes please advise , or if this is not necessary please provide some information on the same .

Regards

Rahul.

Check Note 639486 - Anti-virus protection within SAP applications (BC-SEC-VIR)

and Note 817623 - Integrating a virus scan in your own SAP applications

Search on service.sap.com/notes you will more information.

Hi Sunil ,

Thanks for the note , however the note mentions about scanning the files in Operating system , in Solaris sparc its not prone to get affected by virus .

The main concern is about database , because the posted resumes of external candidates stores in a database . Will the database corrupt other data if a virus document is uploaded ??

Rahul
