Hi Team,

We have one SAP system whose Component version shows Netweaver 04.

We have below components Installed on the system :

SAP_ABA 640 0010 SAPKA64010 Cross-Application Component

SAP_BASIS 640 0010 SAPKB64010 SAP Basis Component

PI_BASIS 2004_1_640 0007 SAPKIPYI67 Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) 2004_1_640

ST-PI 2008_1_640 0003 SAPKITLRC3 SAP Solution Tools Plug-In

SAP_BW 350 0010 SAPKW35010 SAP_BW 350

CPROJECTS 310_640 0009 SAPK-31409INCPROJECT SAP cProject Suite 3.10 (based on 640)

ST-A/PI 01M_BCO6400001 SAPKITAB6F Servicetools for other App./Netweaver 04

1)Now My query is we say this system as PLM System and also say Cfolder and we can see Cprojects component is also 1 ) installed on this server.

I am new to this application So my question might be silly but I have confusion that are PLM, Cfolder and Cproject we call to same application.

2 ) What is the difference between SAP KERNEL 6.40_EX2 64-BIT UC and SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT UC means what basically _EX2 says in this.

Please suggest.

Hi Shivam,

I understand that you are having a netweaver 2004s system.

1)Now My query is we say this system as PLM System and also say Cfolder and we can see Cprojects component is also 1 ) installed on this server.

cProjects is a pre req for PLM module. PLM functionality comes by default on a ECC 6 system but you have activate its business functionality EA-PLM business set.

Please note that EA_PLM business set will not be available on your NW2004s system. cPRojects is different and PLM is different.

What is the difference between SAP KERNEL 6.40_EX2 64-BIT UC and SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT UC means what basically _EX2 says in this.

640_EX2 is the successor version of the 640 kernel. The applications running this kernel are themselves not impacted with the newer kernel version. For more info refer Note 1058988 - 640_EX2 Kernels

Hi,

Your is a cProjects as well as PLM system. You can use both the functionalities. PLM is an integral part of cProjects add-on

Let me know if you need any further info.

Hi,

So at the time of installation do we used AS ABAP only of Netweaver 2004 and then applied Cprojects as add on.

And In Netweaver 2004 Cprojects cotains PLM functionality also.

And If I need to check some OS and Database compatiblity for this PLM system, I should go ->

PAM -> Netweaver 2004 then there below Netweaver I do not see PLM or Cproject or CFolder So should I use Application Server ABAP for PAM information.

And How can I check my kernel is 6.40 or 6.40_EX2

Can you please share any link to make my background clear.
