Hi All,

I have installed ECC 6 IDES on Windows 2003 server and oracle data base.

I have problem in starting mmc. This had happened after modifying original profile under RZ10. We had to shutdown the system for some maintainance activities now I am not able to start sap through sap management console. it goes to yellow status for sometime and then becomes grey ie stopped.

I ready too many case similar in SDN but still not work.

I know that the probleme is in the profile but who to resolve it. I try too many solution but unfortunately still not starting>

Can any one help me to resolve it together

Thanks

Adil

Hi,

please check the log files of your instance - especially the ones belonging to the message server (dev_ms), dispatcher (dev_disp) and also check the work processes (dev_w01 e.g.). Without a specific error description this is guess work.

I hope you backed up your previous profile on the OS level? So you could switch back to the old one (at least temporarily) and correct the settings.

Kind regards,

Hi Dinter,

Even in the .Bak teh is the parameters that I add.

so I will search in the sdn form if there is similar solution

  1. Jcontrol: Migrated Profile Parameter

  2. create at Mon Feb 08 22:30:20 2010

#----

j2ee/instance_id = ID0129249

#----

#parameter created by: GBRAHIM 16.12.2010 21:16:00

#parameter deactivated by: GBRAHIM 16.12.2010 22:55:35

#parameter reactivated by: GBRAHIM 16.12.2010 22:55:50

icm/host_name_full =

Hi,

go to the profile directory on a cmd.exe

issue a: "sappfpar check pf=put_your_profile_here"

If there is issue with memory configuration, you should get a message showing the problem.

Did you change DB parameters in addition?

May be put a zero too much on a new db_cache_size value, which eats up your memory now ?

Hi Volker,

I can follow that much I m not that expert,

you ask me for cmd.exe it's command prompt, and ...

I check the cmd.exe.log it say SDM started successfully.

You need to use following command

sappfpar check pf=/usr/sap/DM0/SYS/profile/<SID>_<Instanzname>_<Hostname> (instance profile)

Do you remember what parameters you have changed? If possible revert the parameters at OS level in instance profile and try to start your SAP.

It done and I get 0 error and 0 warning and it's create a new file in the folder path,

however we I start sapcmm It doesn't show me at the node and stay grey.

I thinks if there is no Warning message it means that no probleme with memory!!!!

Thanks any way.

hope it will be resolve

You need to use following command

sappfpar check pf=/usr/sap/DM0/SYS/profile/<SID>_<Instanzname>_<Hostname> (instance profile)

it gona generate new profile and you can use it to start your SAP

May it gona not work a first time, you have juste need to try it little many time.

You need SDN member too

Hi,

Whenever you make any changes in Profile it will generate .bak profile (Drive:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile)

Please check such file created for instance profile.

Rename original instance profile and change .bak file as original one and try to start SAP.

Hi Adil,

Did you change the memory related parameters like abap/buffersize? if so revert it to the old settings. You can edit the profile file from the OS level /sapmnt/<SID>/profile

Paste the last 50 lines of dev_disp log and dev_w0 log file

Hi SBK,

I try to undrestand what's the error but no way.

the things that I add in the profile is the following:

icm/host_name_full = $(SAPLOCALHOST).domain.ext I also delete some profile.

since I add this change I can't start SAP.

I try to reuse the .Bak profile but no way

the log in Dev_w0 :
