Applying AS4FIXFILE correction to kernel

Former Member

Good Morning,

I need to apply the AS4FIXFILE to my current kernel as per SAP note 1387754. I have never applied part of a kernel before so need confirmation on my assumption of how to do it. I am assuming it is similar to applying a normal kernel but would prefer proper confirmation of instructions if possible.

Thank-you

Anette

Good Day Volker,

I have just done a copy following your procedure for my quality system - and hence experienced the problem. Please confirm this is correct for me :

Enter AS4FIXFILE in the parts document

LODSAPKRN DEV(STMF) MNTPNT('/KERN') KRNLIB(SAPSIDUKRN) USERDEF(YES) LIST('/KERN/PARTS')

RMVSAP SID(<SID>) DLTKRNLIB(*NO)

APYSAP TYPE(*KERNEL) SID(<SID>) DSTLIB(SAPSIDUKRN)

Thank-you for your reply it is greatly appreciated.

Hi Anette,

I'm sorry, I cannot confirm, as it is wrong ....

as I wrote: you do need APYR3FIX instead of LODSAPKRN ...

Hi Anette,

first of all, I do not think, that you do face the issue of that note ... SQL7008 is normal after a homo copy when you miss AS4FIXFILE ...

But, then it would be implemented with APYR3FIX as every kernel patch ...

(in this case, you do not need APYSAP afterwards)
