Hi All,
We opened a file through the import manager which was of a relatively large size 28 MB. The import manager showed an error as " Out of memory" and the import manager crashed. After this we are not able to open the import manager, data manager, or the syndicator.
can anyone suggest anything.
Thanks!
Ankush
Hi,
please also note that files with more than 50,000 records should not be imported via Import Manager.

Hi Ankush
Opening large files in import manager oftens leads to memory oveflow and system hangs.
To avoid this you can try following-
1. Use of MDIS for importing bigger files. In the MDIS.ini we can define the chunk of records to be processed.
2. In the excel file take care to delete all the empty rows and columns.
3. If you are importing via an excel file which contains multiple sheets and using Joining facility in the import map, try to import in multiple passes for Qualified tables.
4. Do the import using a machine with more CPU and avoid working on other applications like IE.
5. Try to reduce the number of records in excel file. Split the bigger file into smaller files with say 10k records.
hope this helps-Ravi

Try to avoid manual importing of files with larger size. You can ask technical team to restart the server, probably a faster solution.

Hi Ankush,
Please look into SAP Note 1501344 - Connecting with Import Manager causes an "Out of memory" error.
If you wish to import large file(ex 28 MB or more), it is better to use MDIS(Automatic import).
Hope this may help you,

In the past, if an out-of-memory situation occurred, it was typically necessary to restart the application,
Although there are tools available to diagnose memory problems, they often require a restart of the application to collect the necessary information.
It may help..
