Is there a way to save the WDA to a file (on desktop) . Just as we do in ABAP?

It is not possible wda into file in destop. You can copy the source code and save it to a file.
if you are talking about exporting and importing WDA then you have to look for SAPLINK.

you need to install the saplink and also the webdynpro plugins.
Do you mean download the WD source code?
