HI,

C:\usr\sap\ERP\DVEBMGS*\work should have the dev_-traces we need.

Guess one: C: filesystem is full

Guess two: not enough memory installed.

Guess three: Due to having E:\usr\sap\ERP and C:\usr\sap\ERP a previous installation might have failed and this might

give you trouble with the SAPLOC / SAPMNT shares, if they point to an old location.

Comment one: 8.1.7.0.0 is a quite strange DB Release to install with. 8.1.7.4 should be minimum,

but it was never supported on W2K3 only on W2K, allthough I saw a couple of these combos

Comment two: For installation questions, always post : OS release and patchlevel / DB release and patchlevel / Sap Release

Have you checked that all permissions are set correctly for the directories used by SAP and its users?

Is there still sufficient free space left on the devices where you install the SAP system and where the temporary installation logs are written to?

What about the environment variables of the users? Are all set correctly?

You sure your database is up and running? including listener (for oracle)

also check the dev_disp, dev_ms and dev_w0 files from your work directory for more details.
