Authorization issue for Inspection plan & Inspecttion results in one Plant

Former Member

hi, all, i have an issue about authorization for Insepction plan and Inspection results in one plant..

The detailed scenario is that:

There are 3 business unit in one plant, for example E1 E2 and E3. The Inspection plan and Inspection results are all managed in

one plant . so is there any possibility that the display and change authorization of users for Inspection plan and Inspection

results can be separated from different Business Unit among one plant. They don't hope these inspection plan and results can be

shared by different users in one plant.

Do you have any ideas??/

You can also use work centers to control results recording. Each user can be assigned to various work centers.

Use the QM authorizations as indicated in previous postings for controlling the master data and results recording.

so many thanks to you all guys.

i just want to check whetehr work center can be used to limit the authorization of inspection plan??

and for inpsection results authorization, is any other way to limit, except by using Inspection type.. the reason is that we are a

global sap system, if so , then we will have to create so many new Inspection type.

thanks all.

Customer exit 'CPAU0001' (authorization check in task lists)

Enhancement spot 'ES_SAPLQEEM' (QEEM_FEATURES_PROCESSING)

No, you can't use work center for controlling access to editing or changing inspection plans.

However, even though these businesses are in the same plant, have you considered maintaining the plans in different plants? I'm sure you probably have some virtual plants, or distribution centers, or warehouses, or tollers, or some other plants created.

Created each businesses plans in a different virtual plant. You might even just create three virtual plants for master data. You can keep all the Mic's in one plant if u want or these also can be created in the virtual plants.

Then simply assign the materials to the plans in these plants. Remember, plans can be assigned across plants. Each business then is only given QP01/02 access in their respective master data plants.

The QM material authorization group restricts user access to process inspection data like as create/change the plan, lot, result, UD.

If you want to restrict display also, try case 2).

Just idea..

Case1) different business unit and different material

- Create 3 QM material authorization group in configuration

- Define it to each material in material master-QM view

- Create 3 role profile which has each 1 QM material authorization group

- Assign 1 role profile to user

Case2) different business unit and common material

- Divide 3 inspection type and 3 inspection plan usage in configuration

- Assign 1 by 1 in configuration

- Create 3 role profile which has each 1 inspection type and 1 inspection plan usage

- Assign 1 role profile to user

About your solution 1,

I have set up 3 different authorization group and assign it in QM View,

find it doesnt work. Still can display the inspection data of other business unit.
