Blank Screen when trying to install SolMan ontop of Oracle 11

I am running Linux x86_64 and Oracle 11. When I start up my install for Solution Manager 7 EhP 1, I get a blank install screen after the welcome screen (the one with the two ladies). Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

So please post the installation logs so we can check what may be wrong.

Without any further information every suggestion is just "guessing".

Unfortunately, Markus, it's not writing any installation logs. I don't have any to post.

What's the output of

java -version

also check /tmp/sapinst_instdir for logs.

java -version provides the following information

• JRE build 2.3

• IBM J9 (build 2.3, J2RE 1.4.2, IBM J9 2.3)

Looks not bad.

So - what do you see when you start sapinst? There must be output if something opens.

If you don't see anything it's impossible to help you --> open an OSS call so one can have a look on your system.

Are you using an officially supported version of the OS with the required patches?
