Hi,

Please provide the detailed BRBACKUP log.

Br*tools version ? Apply the current patchlevel of DBATOOLS.

Also check that you are able to initialize the Tape using brbackup or not. The problem may be with Tape device or Tape Media.

Permissions of brtools are set properly ? Refer SAP Note 113747.

Your tape drive seems to be broken.

It's time to get a new one, I suppose.

But to make sure: First try if you are able to access it by Unix tools.

And I try to use the tar command to tape appeared to be done.

ฺีYou can use the command tapeutil a regular.

But when a backup offline, it can not rewind tape out the error above.

Get expert Harry again.

Thank very much,

Can you rewind the tape from Unix command line?

Have a look if this [link|http://lmgtfy.com/?q=errpt 5537AC5F "TAPE DRIVE FAILURE"] will help.

And by the way, not sure what this sentence does mean:

Get expert Harry again.

Who is expert Harry?

Did you get him?

You didn't answer my question whether you can rewind the tape from Unix command line.

But anyway, I would contact hardware support. You may have to get the drive replaced.

I suppose you already tried the usual things like power off/on, hardware reset, check cabling, cleaning tape, ...

regards

I'm not sure, but asked that the hardware support and he said "command "tapeutil-f / dev / rmt unmount"it will rewind tape, too.

Welcome and thanks very much, Mr.Joe Bo

and how can you say to me, I can try out.

And what does hardware support tell you about the errpt errors you showed above?

Imho it is their task to get rid of them.
