new excise series number-J_1IEXCLOC for a series group

Hello

how to extend the excise invoice numbers for a series group (100 in our comp) and for the object J_1IEXCLOC after finishing the intervals.

for example :

  • 01(NO) 2010(year) 0001020001(From No) 0001030000(to No) 1020014(current) (for series grp 100) *

and for another series group (101), the intervals are

  • 01 2010 0001030001 0001040000 1030028 *

we would like to increase the number series for 100 group , but the next number is already assigned to 101 series group.

can any one suggest me how to give another series number for a single year.

Like my numbers will finish with 30000 and we will start with after 41000.

Dear Lakshmipathi

I tried by giving new no 02 and new excise number series.

But the system is taking the old series and restarting from the old starting number (i.e, overwriting the excise numbers) after the number series ends.

Suggest me....

Thanks & regards

Hi,

Try to understand with the example:

If a client is having Multiple Plants PL1, PL2 and PL3 with Excise Group 10, 20 & 30.

Now for Domestic Excise Number range 0001 to 1000 you have following Series Groups 10, 20 & 30 for Plant PL1, PL2 & PL3 respectively.

Now for PL1 plant, 1st excise invoice created will be say 0001 at April'10 i.e. at the beginning of the Financial year 2010 and same will be applicable for PL2 and PL3.

Now we achieve the same by Excise Group & Series Group combination.

If any plant will consume all the number range available at respective Series Group and you want to extend the number range you will need to create new series group say 11 in case of PL1 with number range 1001 to 1999 and you will need to assign the same to Excise group 10.

Similar way its applicable for each plant.

I hope this will help you clear your doubt.

Thank You,

RB

Try to differentiate the "No" and maintain the required number range. For example, if your existing numeric maintained is "01", then differentiate as "Z1".

Meanwhile, you have already posted a question in April'2010 and still keep open without updating the status of that thread. Please update the forum what is the current status whether it is solved or not. If not, what efforts you have taken so far.

thanks
