Hi all,
We are on SRM 5.0 SP14 .
Does anyone know which is the latest SP available for SRM 5.0???
Also we are facing some issues for which SAP has told to apply some OSS notes which are available in the higher SP levels like SP16 and Sp18.
generally for SP upgrade, what is the approach??Does the SP need to be upgarded every year??If so,by how many levels??Suppose if there is a higher SP available, can we directly upgrade to that version??
Please advise.
You should be able to see the SP maintenance schedule on SAP Service Marketplace under
software downloads > additional download information > SP stacks maintenance schedule.
This would give you an idea of the latest SP level for your SRM system. In general, it is always better to be up to date on the SP level so that you can get the latest fixes for issues. With the maintenance schedule in mind, you can also plan your SP upgrade ahead.

Thanks Jay for the info.We are currently on SP13.However we are facing several issues now which require applicatiion of notes on Higher SP.
My questions:
1.For each of these issues,we know which notes to apply.Do we need to selectively apply these notes for these issues or is it better directly to upgrade to higher support pack?
2.Also after upgrading to support pack, how do we ensure that all of the issues will be resolved?
3.In the future,if we decide to upgrade to SRM 7.0.,is there any restriction on the lowest support pack we need to upgrade the system to so that the upgrade can be done smoothly?
Hi
Yes. We have to cope up with SAP on Upgrading service pack .
otherwise SAP hesitate to support our system.
You can ask advice via OSS message. They can advise you what is the available SP version for upgrade your SRM release.
Service pack is nothing but bunch of corrections in the form of SAP Notes .
Every time when you do SP upgrade, you must thourouly test well and make ensure that did not cause any side effect in your business and make ensure that current business process are working well after service pack upgrade.

Hi,
Typically the SP versions relationship is maintained in the Release Information Note (RIN) of respective releases.
Latest SRM version is SRM 7.0 Enhancement Pack1 SP03 (released for ramp-up iN Dec 2010).
RIN for SRM 7.0 EhP1 SP03 is 1494783.
Am pasting the relevant section from RIN for your ready reference:
SP Equivalence Levels
- The SP equivalence levels for SRM EHP1 SP03 are listed below.
This means that the correction levels are equivalent and also
determines your upgrade path to any enhancement package:
- SRM Ehp1 SPS03 --> SRM 7.0 SPS09 > SRM 5.0 SPS17> SRM
4.0 SPS16
This means, you can upgrade from SRM 5.0 SP17 to SRM 7.0 EhP1 SP03.
Best regards,
Ramki
