error while java installation during ecc enp1 installition on win + oracle

hi,

i'm started installing SAP ecc6 ehp1, during java installation i tryied to install j2sdk se 1.4.2_28

after that when i tried to check it on the command prompt it is showing

*C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>java -version*

*'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,*

*operable program or batch file.*

after that i installed jdk 1.6 now its showing

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>java -version

java version "1.6.0_22"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.1-b03, mixed mode)

but i am supposed to use j2sdk se 1.4.2_28

please help

have you set the JAVA_HOME environment variable correctly to point to 1.4.2_28 installation folder?

not sure if 1.6 is recommend, but i usually rely on sapjvm or 1.4.2_21
