We have an Oracle RAC system (on 2 servers) nd adddiional aplication servers on Unix (TRU64 will be migrated to HP-UX) Version of ECC is 5.0

On RAC servers there is no application server(no visible in transaction sm51). What wil going to be upgrade procedure.

The goal is to upgrade it to ECC6.0

I will have firsts to upgrade CI server and then application servers I guess.

What about database servers. I guess I should not touch them as they already have Oracle version 10.2.0.2. suitable on both ECC version(am I right?)

Thank you in advance

Yes Oracle 10.2 is compatible with ECC 6.0 (ERP 6.0) so a database upgrade will not be required.

But what you will be doing is a version upgrade and not a kernel upgrade. Hence the SAP Version Upgrade will actually ugrade & change the components (objects) inside your Oracle RDBMS & hence on the database server.

The SAPup s/w will also upgrade the kernel s/w on your application servers.
