patch error " tp user check ok"

Hi,

iam unable to add patch SAP_BASIS640 patch 14 . All other patches we have added successfully . When we try to import SAP_BASIS patch 14 system gives <b>"tp user check ok"</b> then system hangs . no response and no errors.

Please suggest.

please have a look at the SAP note number 672651 "OCS: Known problems with Support Packages in Basis Rel.6.40".

You may find some details that help you solve the issue.

Do you get any other error information in SM21 or in support pack temp log files in /usr/sap/trans/tmp...?

Since the pack install seems to hang it could be a good idea to check for .LOC or .LOB files in /usr/sap/trans/tmp which may be forcing SPAM to wait & appear to hang. These will be plain text files containing a PID, check if the PID is still active on your system, it may be possible to delete the file, releasing SPAM to run.
