Dear experts,
I am trying to install the JDK to linux, and met a big trouble as follow.
Before the installation,I removed the pre-installed JRE, and got JDK(j2sdkfb-1_4_2_28-linux-ia64-rpm.bin) from Sunu2019s site,
but in linux CommandLine, when I extract this jdk, it always show me a message like that
u2018./ j2sdkfb-1_4_2_28-linux-ia64-rpm.bin: line 427: ./install.sfx.4911:cannot execute binary file Done.u2019
※JDK:j2sdkfb-1_4_2_28-linux-ia64-rpm.bin
linux:64bit
kindly help me to reslove the issue.
Thanks in advance,
Li etsuhin
Do you really need the IA64 version? Are you using an Itanium based system or a x86_64 based one?
In that case the package you selected is wrong and you need the x86_64 version.
Apart from that did you check SAP note 1172419 regarding the required JDK version for java?
SAP requests to use the IBM JDK version and not the SUN version. Therefore you should check whether you really need that SUN package.
The above mentioned note states explicitly which package is needed for which Linux version and where to get it.
Kind regards,

Just to add:
Starting in january this vendor SDK mess will be over:
Note 1522200 - SAP JVM 4.1 parameters when switching from a partner JDK
