Auto reaction method assignement

Hello Alerting experts!

I have few simple questions about the set up of automatic alerts

My scenario

I would like to set up automatic alert from CEN (SOLMAN) in case when a sattelite system will be shut down.

In this case I would like to send E-mail and SMS.

The SCOT configuration works properly

Questions:

1) What is the desired auto reaction method in order to send Mail and SMS

a) CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2

b) CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM

2) How often and in which client (000 or productive client) should run the following jobs on the CEN?

a) SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP

b) SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER

Thank you very much!

Hi Tom,

For Question #1 you might want to look at SAP Note 617547 - RZ20: Sending alerts as mail and SMS

In regards to SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP it should be run once per hour as per SAP Note 16083 - Standard jobs, reorganization jobs. And in regard to job, CCMS processes central auto-reactions with job SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER, I think the guideline is just to ensure it only runs once at any given time.

Hope this information is helpful.

Paul

Hello!

Many thanks for you response.

According to your sap note the method CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2 will be recommended.

But what is the difference between the both methods?

a) CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2

b) CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM

Hello Tom,

>>But what is the difference between the both methods?

>>a) CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2

>>b) CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM

A) An auto-reaction methods used for sending mails through the SAPconnect interface ( Note 939616)

B) A new auto-reaction method CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM for sending e-mail, SMS, WAP and so on (Note 617547)

My understanding is a) On an alert you send an Email and b) The Alert is sent via email or SMS etc. to the Central Alert Framework.

Hope this helps to close ou tthis thread.

Regards,

Paul
