Triggering of EHS master data from MM

Hi all,

I am very new to EHS environment and my requirment is to find the material relevant for the Hazmat master using a Z table. This has to be done during the interface which transfers the data to EHS. My query is how the data is getting transferred to EHS and how to find that?? Will it be done using some BDC or LSMW kind of thing?

I have done a further inquiry and found BAPIs which might be better:

BAPI_BUS1119_SAVEREPLICA - BAPI: Edit Hazardous Substance Data (Mass Editing)

The other BAPIs are related to create specificatiot sbut not the Hazardous Substance master.

By standard the "HS_FILL" report is used to create th HSM (http://www.se80.co.uk/sapreports/h/hs_f/hs_fill.htm). With in his report the function module HSM060_HAZSUB_DATA_FILL seems to be used to do the filling. PLease tae a look in report HS_FILL.

PS: by the way: there is an "old HSM" available and the new one. I assume we are talking about the new one as the old one (the old approach) should not be used any more). The old scenario is described e.g. here: http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/LEWM/MMWM.pdf

I think you have hit the bull's eye by finding BAPI_BUS1119_SAVEREPLICA.

Have you got any documentation as what value should be inputted to replicate the HSMD process??

I am trying with different combinations, but couldnt figure out

Might be useful (but very tricky to use because this is an ALE related BAPI).

I found the interface and now my prblem is to find the BAPI which would do exactly the same functions as HSMD for creating hazardous substance. Any ideas??

it is not really clear to me what you need. Therefore I try my very best in answering your question:

you will find the chapter "Hazardous Substance Master" explaining what is going on. Now the "normal" story to get a HSM is:

a.) you have a material

b.) you link it to a REAL_SUB in EH&S PS

c.) you provide further data regarding the REAL_SUB

d.) and then the "creation" of HSM; begins

In the HSM a number of data can be transferred. As you can do here a lot of customizing you are "free" of how the HSM could look like. In HSM in most cases no specification number is needd any more. The "main" object is the material number

The filling itself is done with a simple report. PLease take a look in chapter "Filling of the Hazardous Substance Master" of sap help. Further infos can be found in chapter "Hazardous Substance Master Filling " of the sap help.

Thanks for your valuable input.. I got a insight of whats happening with hazardous substances.

If am not wrong there is a transaction which goes with HSMD to create the hazardous substances for a material. Now my problem is to do the same in an interface. So basically i need to search for BAPIs which would behave the same way HSMD behaves. Any ideas on that??
