Hi,
We are presently on XI3.0 SP19.We would like to upgrade to PI7.1/PI 7.1EHP1.However have few questions
1.What is suggestable -going to PI7.1 or to PI7.1EHP1, if EHP1 then
2.What are the ways to upgrade XI3.0 to PI7.1EHP1.
2.Is it possible to upgrade XI3.0 to PI7.1EHP1 directly or upgrade to PI7.1 and then install EHP1?
Could you please help me on the queries.
Appreciate your response.
Thanks ,
Padmaja
Hi,
Addition to the above
go for 7.11 (i.e ehp1 of 7.1) ..as it have other features to use..
especially proxy feature in AAE (using XI protocol in SOAP) and also Idoc packaging which will be veryful ..
for compatible side 7.1 onwards we have pattern in service interface(message interface) with XI 3.0 stateless..
Gud luck
Rajesh

Hi,
we just completed a migration from 7.0 to 7.1. Our experience is, that it takes time, but not as long as one would have expected. We made a file interface moving design objects from one system to the other, which helped speed the process up quite a bit.
Kind regards
Mikkel

Hi Padmaja,
You can go with SAP Pi 7.1 , later if your client need go for SAP 7.11 or 7.3 .
Installation is very similar like 7.1 & &.11You may find the documentaion on sap help or sap SMP side.

there is a good guide available on how to upgrade and the decision making factors. This will help you - http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40328fc8-4844-2b10-b7a2-8930c16df...

1) EhP1
2) check XI to PI 7.1 upgrade doc on SDN...process would be similar for PI 7.11
3) can upgrade to PI7.11 directly

Abhishek.
