Hi there,
We are building a parallel landscape for PI and would like to have an exact copy of our existing Dev system with a different SID.
The method we are using is fresh installation with export/import of content from source to target. I need some guidance on the approach .
1) I have taken the export of the sld data from administration-> data. when importing in the target system, do I need to install the CR and CIM content before hand to the same level or will this export taken in source suffice.
Hi,
Hi,
Can you please refer to the documentation on the SAP
e.g. Planning Guide
User Manual (NW 7.1)
and others
The following SAP Notes may also be of interest for this issue:

Provided that you indeed do not yet have any important data in the
target namespace, you can clear the target namespace under
"Administration" - "Namespace". Select the namespace and delete
it. Namespace sld/active will be recreated automatically. You'll only
need to reimport the model as required.
2) Target SLD
- Change object server name from "localhost" to a unique name as per note 935245,
- delete and recreate namespace sld/active
- check the profile parameters
- import latest model (same as in source SLD)
- import backup from source SLD.

Aidan

Aidan,
I have gone through those links. but my question is simple. I have a newly installed target PI system. I want to move data from source PI to new PI system. both are PI 7.1 . I would like to know if I just need to export the data from administration tab and import it directly into target system or do I need to import the cim and cr content before that?
