I know that the SNP heuristic planning logic is influenced by the 'stock balance' macros.
But how can I find a good description of the planning logic used by CTM (for SNP)?
Thanks...
Hi,
The CTM planning uses a heuristic procedure. CTM considers resource and material capacities across all levels of the supply chain. CTM processes the demands in the sequence according to priorities set. CTM planning uses the Search Strategy for each demand and executes the Source Determination and scheduling for the demand and relevant secondary demands. The planning algorithm determines the orders Capable-to-Match (CTM) creates, along with the quantity and the date, and which receipts and stocks CTM consumes.
Further, CTM planning does not consider the individual production and distribution levels one after the other, such as the classic MRP run, but considers them at the same time. This guarantees that CTM planning generates a plan that can be executed on schedule.
I hope this gives some insight.

Datta
