Hello,

is there an easy way to collect some informations like kernel release/patchno, ccmsagent version etc. of the satellite systems and compare them online with the currently available versions?

Sounds you are looking for Configuration Validation in SAP Solution Manager.

It enables you to compare the support package levels, components, parameters and so on (big list of possible items).

Yes, set up EWA reporting. EWA reports provide this type of information among other information.

Have to implemented EWA reporting? If so tyou should already see an exampe of these recommendations.

You can see sample copies at http://service.sap.com/ewa then navigate to the media library.

There are sample EWA reports, and you should be able to review and tell if this is exactly what you want or not.
