One-to-one mapping of material, vendor & manufacturer.

Dear Expert,

Is there any way by which one-to-one mapping of material, vendor & manufacturer is possible.

I know that by QM-Info record (QI01) one can map material with vendor, and using partner function of vendor, Vendor can be mapped with manufacturer.

But in this case one-to-one mapping happens for Material & Vendor and the Vendor & Manufacturer.

But my client's requirement is one-to-one mapping of material-vendor-manufacturer as a whole.

Dear Vivek,

Have you tried setting up MPN numbers? MPN is material type HERB. MPN allows you to link inventory item with manufacturer number. See link below.

1. Create material master as MPN and link it to real item SAP item #

2. Set up each manufacturer as vendor. manufacturer could be vendors plant.

3. Maintain Q info records for each manufacturer

4. Link real vendor with Manufacturer # using partner functions.

5. If needed, prevent manufacture being used in PO header using diff accounting groups in the vendor configuration.
