Resheduling Dates

Hi,

I have problems understanding who the scheduling works.

I'm using Strict bottom-up as planning method and I've selected network assignment for WBS element.

When I created the project I introduce the Finish date on PD and the duration of the activities. Once I schedule the project everything seems right.

I was trying changing the finish date on de PD and rescheduling all the project but it has no effect, finish date is going back to the original date I had introduced the first time.

My question is which should be the correct procedure to change the finish date and reschedule all the activities? Must I change the finish date on the header network and Project definition?

Try this method:

1) First enter the desired finish date in PD, remove the calcuated start date

2) in gantt chart, select all WBS elements, and delete all dates/duration

3) Now select all objects(including WBS and activities) and reschedule now.

The new dates should be calculated for all objects.

Very helpful answer!

I would have preferred an easy way (as the one you told me) of doing it from the project builder instead than from the planning board. But it's fine!

I conclude that my mistake was that I wasn't deleting the calculate dates/duration from the WBS
