When data is archived from an SAP system using ArchiveLink. Can this data be retrieved using this tool by SAP if it is needed?
For example data in tables lke COEP, VBRP etc is archived, can this data be accessed and read from within SAP if needed?
Many Thanks
David
Hi David,
Short answer for your question is Yes, SAP provides various features to read the archived data from within SAP.
(note: read = retrieve = display of archived data and not reload back into database)
Few of these options are:
1. Using Archive Information System (AS) - transactions SARI and SARJ (you will have to configure before using)
2. Document Relationship Browser (DRB) - transaction ALO1 (AS is a pre-requisite, no oher configuration required)
3. Native transactions and reports - Many standard transactions and reports have the capability to access archived data. You can get a list of them in service marketplace \ilm
Apart from above, SAP provides Archive Development Kit (ADK), using which cusom programs could be written to access archived data. Custom reports can be written based on AS too.
For AS, DRB and ADK, you will get a lot of information if you search in SAP help and SDN.
Hope this helps,
Naveen
