Hi experts,
I built up an BO universe on a Microsoft Excel data source with ODBC connector. One column of the excel sheets contains numeric values with decimals, e.g. 2,34. When inserting the table in the universe the row is detected as character, although it is defined as measure with aggregation sum.
When using the value field in Web Intelligence, in case of aggregation a #OVERFLOW error message comes up.
Putting a Sum()-Function around it results in an error WIS 10901.
I also tried to use a point as decimal separator without success.
What is the best way to deal with this problem? Any ideas?
What is the best way to include Excel-key figures in a universe?
Regards,
Sebastian
Easiest way is to convert the number to one without decimals.
Like if you had an amount in euro's just make it eurocents (*100).
Then in the measure object you give to the end user you can divide by 100.
Hope this helps,
Marianne
