Can any body tell me why we use solution manager?
What all can be done in soln manager?
Do we neet to install any SAP application for its GUI?

We really have a huge number of advantages/benefits from solution manager.
You might be having a IT landscape with broad range of SAP and Non-SAP Products. Solution manager
1. Helps you to monitor each of these systems by "<b>System Monitoring</b>" feature.
2. <b>"Change Management"</b> helps you to manage the change that happens in any of your System in your IT landscape.
3. <b>"Servicedesk"</b> which helps you to serve your customers, endusers and moreover it follows ITIL standards with SLAs.
4. "Business Process Monitoring" - helps you monitor any of your business process in any of your systems in your landscape.
5. Apart from this you have <b>"Project Management"</b>, where you can define your roadmap, Configure your satellite system within the project scope that is defined. And this follows ASAP methodology.
6. You have testing aswell.
and we have lot more to talk about Solution Manager. Hope this can give a good idea.
