ECC to PI conenctivity RFC , ports , logical system can be used.

from PI to ECC need to create new RFC should point to ECC new client , same way new logical system need to define as well.

Hi,

RFC destinations are client dependent. You cannot use the same RFC to connect across clients.

You can create a new RFC destination in transaction SM59.

In the "logon and Security" tab, you have the option to specify the new client which you have created.

@Sangeetha,

In SAP terminology when we talk about the client dependent and independent, it comes for the visibility of something in one client or all the clients.

@Jam,

RFC destinations are Client independent.

In your case, as the new client is being added in ECC system, you will have to make changes in PI system corresponding to your new client of ECC.

However, apart from regular client copy post steps, no changes (PI configuration related) are required in ECC as RFCs are already pointing to your PI system.

Please let us know in case there is any confusion.

Cheers !!!

RFC Destinations are Client Independent. From Source it is dependent on Destination as you mention client number with username and password.
