Customer number range

Hi we have requirement in number range.

Need to convert number range as per legacy, like 100001, 100003, 100005, so here 100004 is skipping,when we maintain number range as external, how to fill this number range gap.

Can we make number range from external to internal once customers are created, as above said during golive we need to keep as internal, system should generate automatically, but issue is there will be a number range gap as said above, how to optimize them.

if any one come across, please give the solution.

First thing I would like to ask,

Why there is a gap in customer numbers in Legacy data-? Could be customer is blocked / deleted or customer doesnt exist / nor do business- could be many reasons. either you can take the same customer with the mentioned reasons or if busienss doesnt want to carry this data, better to have external numbers & skip this data even in future system as well.

Generally if business wants to have same number as legacy numbers then we opt for external number range, in future if they want to convert this number into internal , then they have to make sure, that they cant have option to choose the customer number in future.

This has to be firm. Then only you can go ahead to change Numbe range from External to Internal.

hi,

this is to inform you that,

please dont play or change any number ranges once created.

as they are the pillars of master data or master data representation.

so please little bit care ful before and after giving number ranges to the system

if once master data is created then we have to process like that only in the system.

of course we can change it but system might behave in different way.

for this requriment, you need to supress like XDN1 from 100001 to 100004.

and then again XDN1 with 100006 to 199999.
