and the package level is sap_appl 600/ sap_basis 700 / sap_abap 700,

so we do not have any enhancement installed.

Is it necessary to install any ehp?

I do not know what benefits the ehp will give us

Could you give some advices?

thanks a lot.

Hi,

first of all, you have to know what is inside the EhP package.

in example if the EhP only delivers update or correction for HR, and you didn't implement HR module so it is clear not to implement this EhP.

the second one, you have to look into your system, do they need some update or correction delivered by EhP?

if no, then pass it.

suggestion : because EhP can be considered as "major change", it is better if you have a testing server to deploy EhP there, then pass it to your SAP Functional team and ABAP to let them perform testing before deploy it on you live envireonment.

hope it help you.

Hello,

If you need more information about the benefits of an EHP upgrade, you can send a Business Function Prediction request to SAP [here|http://service.sap.com/bfp] .

You can also find lot of usefull information [here|http://erp.fmpmedia.com/Default.aspx?alias=erp.fmpmedia.com/english] .

Hi,

Applying EHPs is like a mini upgrade. It is a major project which must be driven by functional inputs.

If you go directly from EHP0 to EHP4 like we did, it is a lot of work.

It is difficult to get the functional consultants to tell which business functions they want to activate because they don't know the contents of EHPs and always tell this is a technical matter (which is wrong !)

It is a good idea to apply EHPs one by one each year together with support packages to minimise the quantity of work.

Dear Victor

The answer is it depends on your business requirement. There is a need to apply support packs regularly ( annual, 6 months) based on your maintenance schedule, this is to ensure you get legal and obligatory changes in the system.

EHP contains enhancements as well in addition to fixes to your environment. The enhancement contains new business functionality which needs to be activated as needed only.

The other area to be aware is to ensure you keep the system in supported mode by applying support packs.

Pls check the PAM(product availability matrix) for support end dates.

Also check this link for FAQs, install details from SAP.
