Message files can not be created message 26172

Dear experts,

When I try to dispaly originals from CV03n transaction having .doc or .xls documents, getting the error as

"Files can not be created" .

User is having Windows Professional 2007 and office 2007 installed on the PC recently.

I have maintained work station application with extention *.docx and *.xlsx etc in the configuration.

Also I checked SAPGUI patch is currently 710 and patch level is 11.

Can some body explain us why this behviour is shown by the system?

Hi Nitin,

This is a known issue and one of the reasons may be due to corruption of the file "SAPHTTP.EXE " in SAP GUI.Based on your error details message 26172, would suggest you look up the following wiki links:

It was a c:/ previlege related issue.

Hello Nitin,

I have a similar problem. This error is generated in CJ20n transaction.

There is a file excel file attached which is opened successfully on the development server.

But the above error is displayed and the file cannot be opened on the development server.

Can you please help me with this?

Hi Nitin,

which server are you using for storage of originals? if external content server then you need to reinstall the same, this error is due to installation not done properly.
