Use sapinst to overwrite a system

Experts:

We have used sapinst to export an NW04s (DB-independent method).

We want to use sapinst and above export dump to overwrite a running Oracle DB (pure Oracle DB without SAP instance).

Should we drop the DB on the target first

OR

sapinst will overwrite the DB during in copy?

Hi,

You should use SAPINST to export DB from source system and import in target system. Its better to delete the DB and kill oracle process while importing the export dump.

Hi,

In SAPinst also there is an option (selection screen) to drop schemas during processing. So you can use any one.
