Reg DMS and Records and Case Management

Dear Gurus,

I am little confused whether DMS and Records and Case management are one and the same or whether these two are different modules?

Could you please confirm.

Hi Naresh,

SAP Records Management and DMS are two separate solutions designed for specific requirements.

SAP Records Management provides functionality to structure your content, manage processes such as cases.With records management you usually manage documents, which have no live cycle or are static in nature.The backbone of Records Management is a service-oriented open infrastructure, called the Service Provider Framework.

SAP DMS is focused towards management of dynamic documents like designs,drawings which have a live cycle associated with them.
