Namespaces are Unique identifiers for related integration repository objects. M:1 relation with SWCV.
Namespace attributes are: URN, URL and URI.
URN: It tries to give a description of a resource without actually pointing at it. means with out Protocol Assignment.
Ex: urn:abc-com:xyz
URI: URIs always designate a method to access the resource and designate the specific resource to be accessed.
URL: Is a subset of the URI protocols.

Hi,
A namespace(w.r.t Repository) is used to logically group all the objects of a particular scenario.
With respect to XML documents, namespaces avoid element collisions by providing scoping of tags.

HI,
Namespace is used to identify your objects in the XML message uniquely. If you see Software Component Version is a Mainfolder(Directory Structure) then namespace is a subfolder inside the SWCV. Each SWCV can have mutliple Namespaces. Each namespace represents your logical representation of your integartion scenario
