Tcode - SOLMAN_SETUP is not working

Hi,

We have installed solution manager with EHPI,

and trying to configure it using Tcode SOLMAN_SETUP,

this Tcode is not working, it opens browzer fine but blank..

pls advise.

Hello Irfan

Strange....the first time that you enter in transaction SOLMAN_SETUP, aren't you receiving a message saying "HTTP services not initialized, do you want start HTTP services?". I don't remember 100% the correct phrase, but is more or less how I wrote above. If you're not receiving this informations window, you'll need activate these http services manually.

Yes. I have tested two services.

http://:8003/sap/bc/webdynpro?sap-system-login-basic_auth=X&sap-client=000&sap-language=EN

and its showing up the welcome screen.

Then after a successfull login it brings an error

• The following error text was processed in the system SLM : Web Dynpro application // does not exist

• The error occurred on the application server etgrws10_SLM_03 and in the work process 0 .

• The termination type was: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE

• The ABAP call stack was:

The issue was on my own hosts file, which had the server alias, instead of the full domain name.

Hi Irfan

How did you solve the issue? im facing the same blank screen when opening page

http://<server_name>:8003/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=000

I've checked many services but all are functional

It happens after SOLMAN_SETUP brings a pop-up message saying would like to activate WebDynpro Services, then opens the browser and then nothing.

Hello,

This thread is for an issue with Solman_Connect having a blank screen, not Solman_Setup and I don't see the note being recommended (1266588)being at all relevent to this problem.

The issue of a blank screen when running Solman_setup is not an uncommon error, and typically it is because HTTP services have not be activated in transaction code SPRO.

You can go to transaction SICF and test the link http://yourserver.yourcompany.yourdomain:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wd_sise_main_app?sap-language=EN

If you run into an error opening SICF, or testing this service, then most likely its HTTP Services that need to be Activated.

Hello Irfan,

The first question I would ask is have you performed the IMG activity and activated the BC Set for HTTP Services in transaction SPRO??

Have you defined icm/host_name_full to be the fully qualified domain name?

Are you running IE 8.0? In this case you will need SAPGUI 7.20 ?

Typically these are the reasons that would produce a blank screen when running Solman_setup.

Also makes sure the user has the required authorizations.
