Hi All,
i am new to XI. i just finished installation. I got XI screen and testing time i got Runtime cache error on SXI_CACHE transaction. How can i rectify this one. Also i am having some clarification,
1) we can import softwarecomponent in integration Builder. What is the use of SWC?. i have seen many SWC. But each one has individul properties.which SWC i need to import for particular scenario?
2)All tutorial asked me create data type.If i am going to add some values in R/3 table wheather i need to create datas what are the values in R/3.What is the use of it?
Please anyone clarify my doubt.

Hi,
nw2004s has come with new features for Webdynpro etc. But for XI, it is similar like SP16. In nw2004S, XI is called as PI (Process Integration)

import any Software comp for any senario or any BPM method.
>>You can import any Software Component to the Repository and work on it. But this is created based on your Business requirement etc. It should be more logical name when you create and work on it.
Next i am using SP 9 .Should i make it sp 14 or higher.give me the link. i have userid and password for service.sap.com.
>>>Yes, it is better to have SP14. Because lots of very good features are available in SP14 and onwards.

500 Internal server error is successful for this. SO there is no problem with cache part here.
But you need to check SLD cache now.
Go to Integrtaion Builder->Administartion->Cache Overview and refresh all the caches for Repository/Directory/RuntimeWorkbench.
Also have a look into this SAP note - 764176
and also XI readiness check SAP note - 884865

HI,
SXI_CACHE transaction.
>>>Go to SM59->INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI (Http type) and test the connection. Also make sure that, Path Prefix /dir/CacheRefresh and Service no 5xxxx.
What is the use of SWC?.

2)All tutorial asked me create data type.If i am going to add some values in R/3 table wheather i need to create datas what are the values in R/3.What is the use of it?
>>>Data Type is a unit of data or basic unit of messages in XI. So if you want to send any data you need to have messages. If it is not standard definition like (RFC/Idoc) then you need to create the structures.
