SMS through MII

Can we send any mobile SMS through MII?

If yes, can you pls give me some guidelines?

There are quite a few posts here in the forum, incase you haven't gone through these. Here are a couple:

I think one important thing to realize here is that sending SMS will have a dependency on the service provider's provided interfaces , I mean there won't be anything generic available.
