SAP MMC Hangs after the kernel Upgrade

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We have installed SAP CRM on Win 2008 R2, we have done kernel upgrade to latest 94 patch level. After kernel upgrade SAP MMC is getting hang.

Please let me know which file is related to SAP MMC in SAP kernel. I would like to test if the old SAP MMC kernel file will resolve the issue?

I have searched in SDN and in other forums, but not succeed to find.

Thanks & Regards,

Mahesh C

You should be able to create a new SAPMMC, start --> run --> mmc --> file --> add/remove snap-in --> select SAP from the popup. and make sure you enter correct values and instance number.

Dear,

Sorry for delay reply.

We have solved this issue with the help of SAP Note: 1326097. We have updated SAP MMC as mentioned in the note and its resolved.

Thank you very much for your suggestions & time.

don't ask me where it is documented.

But this situation can happen during an update of an System based on early 7.01 kernels.

Early versions did inherit a socket handle to all started subprocesses.

The socket number is 5<nr_of_the_instance>13 (50213 for a system with nr=02, 51013 for a system with nr=10).

if you find more than one listening sockets on this port, the you have hit this problem.

how to check:

open a command prompt an run following command:

netstat -a | findstr <socketnumber>

there must only be one entry for the socket with state LISTENING!

easiest way to fix this: reboot your computer.
