The database statistics weren't up to date. I also think they probably had the intiial state.
But after renewing the database statistic it works well now and we don't have to wait about 10 minutes to browse the software catalog. It's so fast now

Search your entire database for corrupt indexes or missing statistics for the tables BC_SLD_INST and BC_SLD_ASSINST in the Java database schema.
Do you have enough Java heap space ? A restart of AS Java may help, as well as adding RAM and CPU to the system.
Also, is this SLD being used by NW Development Infrastructure or SolMan ? These put a heavy load on your SLD. You can configure a local SLD system on your PI server, and configure replication from the central SLD so you can synchronise SLD content from the Master SLD to your PI SLD. This is recommended by SAP, especially for production systems, since the SLD is required for PI startup.
