Solution Manager Key

Hello,

What is the best practice to obtain Solution manager key for installing Solution Manager itself, given that it is the very first SAP system (and Solution manage) that I am installing.

Common sense dictates that I should open OSS with SAP for the key. But is there some other solution.

(Asking somebody who has access to another Solution Manager doesn't count as Best Practice).

installation of solution manager itself doesn't required the key. either you are using wrong setup, or there is a new version i don't know about. if you can post screenshots(the screen requested the key) and version of the solution manager, i'll be glad to have a look on that ^^.

You will be given a temporary key when you install Solution Manager.

For a permanent key please visit http://service.sap.com//licensekey.
