Budget check while saving BOM

Hi gurus,

We are working in make to order scenario and following EBOM-PBOM-MRP-Planned order to Production order conversion route.

Many times we come across the situation in which we are getting budget overrun message at the time of creating Production Order and canu2019t create order unless budget of that particular WBS element is increased by said amount. Now I want system to check the budget of each WBS element against EBOM or PBOM at the time of creation and if BOM cost is within budget then only BOM should be saved. How to do this?

Hi Deepak,

Budget check is done only against the Cost Objects, which in your case is a Production Order. BOM of course, is maintained in the Project for Procurement / Production Only, but, .... until the BOM component in Project gets converted into a Cost Object, System cannot check budget.

This may be achieved via an Enhancement / Exit....

consider the Standard Cost Estimates / Prices & other Project Overheads, if any, for all the BOM Components & compare them with your Overall / Annual Budget limits as per requirement .... when you save the Project.

Budget check will not happend when you create a BOM, budget check will happen when you transfer the BOM to Project.
