How to get the http.proxyHost and http.proxyPort?

Hi Experts,

Yes, I admit: I am new to Web Services and SOA. Therefore, I apologize for very basic questions :(.

- I have created a web service from an ABAP FM from SAP CRM.

- I have generated the WSDL using SOAMANAGER with the lowest security setting: NONE.

- I have read the SAP Library [Configuring a Service Provider|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/33/06820d9d174c2884576bd78ac5629d/frameset.htm]

All seems in place to consume the web service.

I want to consume the web service from SAP BOBJ Data Services. Unfortunately I get errors that the web service cannot be invoked. I have posted a thread to Data Services [; where I am told to check if the web server has a proxy. If so, this needs to be specified in Data Services configuration.

Where is the information of the proxyHost and proxyPort available on a SAP system? Is this required to consume the web service externally?

Thanks a lot & Best Regards

Isabelle

Hi Isabelle,

I don't know anything about BOBJ Data Services but I'm pretty sure what's needed here is HTTP Communication Proxy Settings & Port for your network & not proxy & port on SAP. You can try the same proxy & port settings as you would find in your browser's LAN settings in the 'Proxy Server' section (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc.) for example.

Did you try testing the webservice using SoapUI or something similar?

Regards, Trevor

Hi Trevor,

Sorry for late reply! I have tested the web service with SOAP UI 3.6.1 and it works fine.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't work wen called from SAP BOBJ Data Services.

I will follow up with Data Services thread on this subject [Why is the web service cannot be invoked?|;.

Thanks for the tip with SOAP UI.

Best Regards

Isabelle
