Hi Experts,
I am working on an offline interactive form being developed in SAP CRM.
Right now this is in development state.
My document is of @ 30 pages where subforms visble dynamically basedo n user selection of fields.
The size of the XDP file is @ 6 MB.
In SFP when I click on save button its taking minimum of 10 minutes.
We tried looking for if the time gap is any where related to SAP saving the XDP file via ADS (just in case).
What we found in log is like this

There are series of such lines, I couldn't figure out what was the problem with the versions etc.
We are on CRM 7.0
Live Cycle 8.2.3
Adobe reader 9.3.1
Can somebody help me to solve this and fix the performance.
Thanks & Regards,
Sai Krishna
Hello,
first thing to do is to downgrade to 8.1. Do not use version below or above this one, it´s pretty cool piece of software. And by the way it is a part of the SAP GUI 7.2 distribution.
I understand there are features you miss in this version, but I am 99% convinced that 99% of the landscapes are not ready for anything above 8.1. If you´re ready to start digging and testing how it works and if it works, you can install anything you want. But if you could use an advise, go for 8.1.
Second thing: AFTER you make sure the problem is not caused by the version of LCD:
I had the "pleasure" to work on pretty big forms. Like 35 template pages. Sometimes even 80 pages in the final "print". And it was not very nice experience.
What helped:
a) we had to tweak the timeouts for the "system reactions", but the problem was not with saving, the problem was to activate such big form
b) we installed everything we needed on the server and used remote desktop to use stronger hardware. So we were working with LCD on the server, not on a "local PC".
I cannot read logs very well (at all), so if there are any more details you could provide without pasting logs (please use code tags the next time...), I will try to help.
Have a nice day, Otto

Hi Chintan / Otto,
Sorry for the late reply...!
Well the performance issue when clicked on Save or Activate in SFP is resolved and is now taking @ 3 minutes which was earlier minimum of 10 minutes by specifying the cache parameter in XDP / form which is on client side.
Also setting the cache parameter in FPCONNECT table in CRM system, this may be a post installation step which was skipped but not sure.
Also I have verified with Adobe versions the starnge redudancy bug doesn't exist in either of 8.1 or 8.2.3 which we use, this issue was identified in 8.2.1 version of LCD for which Adobe patch release 2 (if i remember correctly) fixed it. Also this issue was completly fixed in ES2 but ES2 is @ 9.x version of the designer.
One of the Adobe forms contibutor provided me a XSLT style sheet with some batch file which will scan the XDP and remove all the duplicate tags I am still testing it now.
If somebody need these files drop me a mail
Thanks & Regards,
Sai Krishna
Well firstly use code tags when you paste such big error logs.
Secondly Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2 and Adobe Reader 9.3 are still NOT supported by SAP.
So downgrade to ALD 7.1, 8.0 or 8.1 depending upon on your landscape. Reader 9.0 is highest version which is fully supported however I would recommend use Reader 8.1.1.

Hi Chintan,
Thanks for the reply.
Earlier we were with 8.1 version but due to some features limitation nad bugs in live cycle designer we moved onto 8.2.3.
When you say ADLC 8.2 and Reader 9.3 are not yet officially supported by SAP, can you please point me to a respective documentaion, we tried it in market place for PAm but left with no success.
Also what we could see is market place has ADLC 9.0 for download, this is another contradiction.
Our only concern was that before rolling back to a older version in middle of development we need to understand what features we are losing and a good reason.
Thanks & Regards,
Sai Krishna.
Hi Otto,
Any inputs on this issue from your side ...?
Regards,
Sai
