Assign material groups to divisions

Hi Frens,

I have read that In the R/3 component Sales and Distribution (SD), you can assign material groups to divisions. where is this assignment made?

To my knowledge, nowhere you assign Material Group to Division but assign to a material in material master Basic Data1 view which is common across all plants in a Company Code. You also maintain material Division in Basic Data1 view.

WG21/WG22 transaction codes does have this linkage wherein you can assign division to material group. The exact usage and significance for the same is not known to me. This assignment gets updated in table T023. This seems like SAP SD Retail tx code. Still thanks for your efforts frens.

Hi Ck,

I think there is no linkage between material group and division in configuration.
