SAP GUI 720 patch 3 Turkish character support

Hi everyone,

When we're using SAP GUI 720 patch level 3 with systems that have old sp levels,we're facing Turkish character support issue while entering data.

Just in our case, entry preview is OK but after pressing the enter key entry becomes meaningless.

As I know, every SAP GUI version has a legacy system support. Right ?

Relevant system patch level below;(for core components)

can you please check the issue with GUI patch 4?

Patchlevel 4: Expected to be shipped in week 49/2010 (06th

December - 10th December) - likely on Friday, 10th of December.

Are you doing a Unicode logon - or ASCII?

Is the system a Unicode system?

Are you logging in with language TR?

First of all, thanks for your concern.

Are you doing a Unicode logon - or ASCII? --->>> We're trying to log in with unicode option.

Is the system a Unicode system? ->>>>> Yes, relevant system is unicode.

Are you logging in with language TR? -->>>> We've tried both Turkish and English. System behaves equally.

By the way, I've closed relevant OSS message because our system stores some classified information for us. That's why I closed it after remote connection request of SAP Support. Shortly, we couldn't get support from SAP.

But We hope that SAP GUI 720 patch 4 will fix this problem. Otherwise,We will install support packages to the relevant ERP system to solve this problem.

can you tell us exactly what happens? We also use TR as logon language with the same sapgui patchlevel - and we don't see that behaviour.

you can create a user that has only permissions for a transaction to reproduce the problem. Without them having access they may not be able to help you.

Well, I think this is just wild guessing, I wouldn't do anything before the root cause is not found.

Hi Markus,

You 're right about permission issue. This happened because our managers wanted it in that way.

Because of same reason, we couldn't implement the note below too.

Do you think if this is a solution for us, please advice.

Nevertheless, please note that we're having this problem with SAP system which has old support packages. We don't have any problem with SAP ERP 6.0 with SP 18 or EHP4 as backend system.

This is indeed an interesting problem, I can't reproduce it here - so it may actually really a handling problem of the too old version.
