Defining JNDI-Entry for DataSource without Visual Administrator

Hi,

in my application I want to use a custom JNDI datasource instead of the default system datasource.

In earlier versions of Web AS I used the JDBC Connector service in the Visual Administrator.

But after the Web AS Preview Installation there is no Visual Administrator anymore.

I only found the SAP Management Console and the SAP J2EE Engine Config Tool.

Can anyone please explain me where I can define the JNDI-Entry for my DataSource, load the JDBC-Driver and afterwords can deploy the new DataSource.

Thanks

Steffen

Hi,

it's just funny. Today in the new article "Open SQL, Native SQL, or Vendor SQL? Working with external Database in Java" I found the solution for my problem with the missing visual Administrator-Tool in Web AS J2EE 1.4 Preview version.

I can alternatively deploy the JDBC-Driver für my external database via Telnet from the Management Console using the command-line tools and the "deploy_jdbc_driver DBPOOL" command and the Shell Console Administrator.
