help with CUA and modifying user "own profile".

Hey guys,

We just implemented CUA in our enviornemnt, and have run into the system.

I understand why all accounts now get modified in the central system, however, our users are asking to be able to still modify thier account defaults (i.e. hour format, numbering format, etc) in SU3 (system ->user profile -> own data)... however the CUA has removed this option from all clients connected to it.

Is it possible to still have this functionality?

Thanks everyone for any info.

Richard

HI,

This can't be identified from this kind of explanaions but can be guessed. It seems your system has wrong Global Parameter settings in SCUM. Please check what are the options available for these fields in SCUM. Also check whether the distribution model is showing all systems in green status. Check the RFC's and text comparison also.

Regards,

Dipanjan

P.S. - What is your system release version?

Hello Richard,

Yes you can have this functionality on the child systems to maintian the default tab locally, Use the SCUM transaction and update the settings for default tab.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Richard,

Total Questions: 15 (9 unresolved) -->kindly check if you can close some.

just a thought:

Pay attention to the fact, that if you have set any of the values in SCUM to redistribution, a change in the child system will cause a redistribution of the user to the central system and form there to the (other) child system(s). So please think twice about allowing the users SU3 in the child system, as you may trigger a high number of idocs to be processed....

Hi Richard,

It is possible to change multiple attributes and the changes are executed according to

the setting associated with each attribute. Therefore, global attributes are changed in

the central system and distributed and those attributes that are to be maintained locally

are filtered out and not changed.Local attributes should be maintained using the maintenance functions

(SU3) in the child systems. So you will have to change the settings in The central system to allow this to be maintained from the child system.
